in charge of online classes at the university of california are scheduled to give a presentation to the uc regents about the lack of success marketing the online classes to nonstudents. the university spent $4.3 million marketing its online classes. hoping to attract tuition from students around the world. but since classes began a year ago, only one person who is not already a uc student has taken the class. uc online classes cost $1400 to $2400. but other universities such as stanford and harvard are offering online classes for free. hundreds of thousands of students have signed up for those classes. >>> uc berkeley is one of the top ten best public college values in the country aid -- according to kiplinger magazine. the magazine looked at admission rates, and other items to come up with the list. ucla is the highest ranking california school. >>> there is a new report suggesting some college co-eds are turning to so-called sugar daddies to help them pay for education. a website shows a 67% increase in the number of female students signing up for the online service. they spend time with

-dollar development project initiated by students at uc berkeley is underway. students returning to campus could see and hear the big changes on the south side of campus this will make way for a whole new plaza. workers moved into high gear over winter break. the students say they wanted the changes and are looking forward to a new lower sprewell plaza. >> this was initially introduced by students and they taxed themselves to pay for the project. >> the campus paid for half of the project and the students paid for the other half. >> student government and otherrants will be relocated to the echelon hall. >>> if you find yourself in a rocky romantic relationship, it could be related to how much sleep you are getting. the uc berkeley study says people who don't get enough sleep may not be expressing enough gratitude in their romantic relationships. sleepless people tend to be more self-centered and are too tired to express appreciation. expression of gratitude can lead to positive mental thinking and physical benefits. i'm not gonna say anything about my situation. the last few years. >> the total average cost of a uc school is now $31,000 a year. state schools are up to $23,000. >> tori, that's a lot of money. >> that's not cheap. >> that's a lot of money. >>> 7:36. sal is coming back. sal, would you say this is the peak of the commute? >> i would say so. as a matter of fact, right now, we do have the traffic getting busy on all levels, almost everywhere you look here. let's start off and take a look at 237. you can see some stop and go traffic, crossing 880 continuing on to 101. you will see slow traffic at the mantague expressway. not a lot of accidents but just a lot of slowing throughout the south bay. moving along and taking a look at the bay bridge toll plaza. we have a 15, 20-minute delay as you drive through. we've been keeping an eye on the livermore valley this morning. it's butcy. we have the maps to show you -- busy. we have the maps to show you that the maps, 680 and 84, i should say, are very slow trying to get down. we've had a couple of minor incidents. if you drive on 680 in pleasanton, give yourself extra time. let's go to steve.
